Oh yeah. They have to be, to fit all the life support stuff, and make sure everything's sealed up well enough that you're not like a single light snag away from your suit tearing open and instantly dying from the lack of air and sudden pressure change.

Well, normally you can't just be on the moon like you can on Earth, so you have to wear these special suits to stay alive.
